College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia

Fourth Wave is very pleased to have been selected to lead the development of the College's leadership direction for the next three years.

The College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia is the regulatory body for nursing in Nova Scotia. Its mission or purpose is to regulate the practice of nursing in the public interest. There are approximately 8,700 registered nurses in Nova Scotia, working in a variety of health care settings. The Registered Nurses Act requires that anyone seeking employment in Nova Scotia as a registered nurse be licensed with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.

The strategic planning process will include provincial consultation with key stakeholders, Registered Nurses in Nova Scotia, and the public. The goals and policies established by the Council, in accordance with the legislation, provide direction to the College's executive director and staff, and ensures Nova Scotia Registered Nurses are regulating their profession to promote excellence in nursing practice.
