Design in Business Nova Scotia - their aim is to develop a design culture in the province of Nova Scotia and to increase the use of design by NS businesses.

Synopsis:
The Economic Impact Study of the NS Design Sector was the first study of its kind to investigate the economic impact of the multi-discipline design sector in a province in Canada.

Fourth Wave worked in partnership with Collins Management Consulting and Research to estimate the economic impact of the design sector. The analytical components of the study focused on a specific component of the design sector - private sector firms that provide design services to other firms, institutions and governments. In addition to research on the contribution of design as an input to a wide variety of industries', governments', and regions' competitiveness, was the estimate of the economic impact of design as an economic sector. Fourth Wave also developed a comprehensive inventory of the design firms that conduct business in Nova Scotia in this assignment.
