Client:
Post RN Specialty Education Unit, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Capital Health. The client's mandate is to provide specialty education for the approximately 8,700 registered nurses in the province of Nova Scotia.

Consulting Services:
Educational model development, concept proposal and business case

Synopsis:
Fourth Wave developed an education model for Post RN professional development in partnership with our associate, Ann O'Neill of Metanoia Learning. The new model includes certification requirements; competency based educational methodology, certification evaluation strategy, and linkages within the system. The concept proposal and business plan outline changes including new educational outcomes, increased levels of responsibility and accountability, changes in the nature of relationships with the stakeholders, and the new skills required to fulfil the Unit's mandate. This proposal and business plan repositioned the Unit's traditional educational delivery paradigm to a system response for the health care system, and was based on broad stakeholder consultation and research.
